One workspace, three views

Editor

For the guide or creator. Build the route, write private guide notes and prepare the media.

Controller

For the guide during the visit. Choose the scene and control what the group sees.

Viewer

For visitors. Join an invitation and follow the guide’s media. Private guide notes never appear here.

The MCP connection lets an assistant work on the same saved tours. The webapp is this website installed on your device. The native apps add device integrations to the shared web experience.

Prepare a tour, scene by scene

A stop is a place on the route. A scene is a moment at one standing position. Grand Central can be one stop with several scenes: the group gathers near the clock, then moves to another position for the next scene.

  1. Open your tour. Use the single Tour settings button for its general information and Bókun product reference.
  2. Add a stop in the left-hand sequence. Click its heading to edit the place name, address and onward route.
  3. Add a scene inside that stop. Give it a clear name and expected duration.
  4. Set the standing point, first viewing direction and private story notes. The map and guide cues belong to this scene.
  5. Arrange images, video or audio in the scene’s Media sequence. Each cue can override the viewing direction while the group stays in place.
  6. If the group moves significantly, create another scene. Use Organize this scene to reorder it or move it to another stop without copying its media.
  7. Save changes, then Rehearse or Guide this tour.

The controller advances through scenes in route order. A live session keeps a snapshot of the saved tour, so editing the tour does not change an experience already underway.

Bókun remains the intended source for the commercial product. Automatic product synchronization is not connected in this staging release; the product reference alone does not activate it. There is no tour import/export workflow in the editor.

Work with an agent

Connect the private Immersia Staging plugin from your assistant’s available connections. Use the same account as the web editor. Connection details belong in Settings.

Open my Paris tour. Improve the story beats for stop two, keeping the route, media and other stops unchanged. Show me the changes and save them when I approve.

The agent can list, create, read and update tour drafts. Supported MCP hosts can also show a compact editor for the title and guide notes. Open the full editor for maps, uploads and detailed media controls.

If the agent edits a tour that is open in the website, save or discard your own edits before reloading. Revision checks prevent one edit from silently replacing another.

Present on your own device — offline

From Tours, open Offline tours. While connected, choose Download tour and wait for Ready offline. The scenes, media and player are saved on this device. Open Present offline, then use Fullscreen. Tap the image to hide or restore controls; select a scene or media cue to move through the tour.

You can close and reopen this presentation without a network. Download separately on each phone or tablet before departure. Clearing app data removes the downloads. This local mode does not send commands to guests. To control visitor devices, use the online controller and a session invitation.

Prepare an offline tour →

Lead your group

  1. From a saved tour, select Start tour. The controller opens in rehearsal mode.
  2. Check the route and media. Select Start session when ready to invite the group.
  3. Show the QR code or share the invitation link. Visitors open it on their own devices. Check the session’s visitor status before starting.
  4. Select a scene, then a media cue. Use Play / Pause, Previous / Next and Blackout. Blackout hides the visitor media without ending the session.
  5. On a phone, switch between Guide notes and Media. Playback controls stay at the bottom.
  6. Choose End session when finished. This ends playback for the group. Your saved tour remains in the library.

Sessions lets you find your session history and resume eligible sessions. Invitation rotation invalidates the previous link; share the new link with the group.

Using a gamepad

With a standard browser-supported gamepad: D-pad left/right changes scenes, A toggles playback, B toggles blackout. Inputs are ignored while editing a text field. Test your physical controller before guiding; hardware compatibility is still being validated.

Join as a visitor

  1. Open the guide’s invitation link or scan the QR code.
  2. Select Join if prompted. Follow the on-screen instructions to enable playback or sound.
  3. Your guide chooses the media. Use the viewer’s display controls for your device.
  4. If the guide has not selected media, keep the viewer open and follow the live visit. Blackout can be intentional.

This Staging site is private. An invitation alone does not override the site’s access restrictions. An unauthorized visitor may reach a sign-in or access screen; the current private pilot is not yet an unrestricted public guest service.

Downloaded media can help with reception, but live commands need connectivity. Do not assume a fully disconnected group stays synchronized.

Position the group and match the scene

  1. In the editor, choose Locate me. Allow location access when the browser asks. The accuracy is displayed in metres; GPS fixes can be poor between tall buildings.
  2. Choose Use my position, or select Place group and click the safe standing point on the map.
  3. Choose Choose look-at point, then click the landmark the group should face. Alternatively enter a compass bearing: north is 0°, east 90°, south 180°, west 270°.
  4. Write the camera/framing reference: film timestamp, facade, camera height and where the group can safely stand. Save the tour.
  5. In the controller, locate yourself to see the distance to the saved point. Enable compass to compare your phone heading with the desired viewing direction. The top edge of the phone should point toward the scene.

Use the visible landmark to make the final adjustment. GPS does not establish the original movie camera position. Compass errors and location uncertainty are shown; a map point is an editorial choice, not a measured GPS fix. AR camera matching is not enabled. Google Maps walking directions open on request without requiring a Maps API key.

Voice, subtitles and translations

Prepare media

Under a scene’s media, choose Record guide voice to create an audio cue (up to two minutes). Stop to upload it. For audio or video, open Subtitles & translations, choose the original language and import SRT/VTT, or transcribe an audio/video file up to 20 MB. Review the timed text and apply edits. Cue times refer to the full source file, not the trimmed playback start.

Select a target language and choose Translate subtitles. Review the result and save the tour. Visitors choose their subtitle language in the viewer. Transcription and translation use Groq; original recordings and edited subtitles remain in your workspace.

During a session

In Voice & live subtitles, record a voice message or type a caption. Review it, select the guest translation language, then choose Send to guests. Visitors receive the original and translated text; they can play the recorded message or read the chosen language aloud with their device’s voice. Clear the caption when it is no longer relevant.

These are explicit voice messages and captions. Continuous live microphone streaming has not been migrated. Spoken translations depend on installed device voices. Stop recording before changing scenes; a new scene clears the previous caption.

Use your existing Cloudflare staging library

Open Settings → Cloudflare Staging library, then browse the linked account’s tours. Open tour preserves the original record and opens a new editable tour. Clips are read in their authoritative order, and media streams from the staging bucket. A historical tour without authoritative slide rows cannot be imported until its metadata is restored.

The pilot links the owner’s ChatGPT account to the existing authenticated Immersia account. Other accounts are not linked automatically. Historical folder names may contain “production”; the connection still reads only the staging database and staging bucket. No production account, database or media is modified. Changes to working drafts are not written back to the historical database.

Phones, installed webapps & glasses

Webapp: open Immersia in a supported browser and use its install/Add to Home Screen action. Installation makes the same web interface easier to launch.

Native Android / iOS: the apps use the shared web experience plus native authentication and display integrations. Updating this website does not install a new native build.

Smartglasses: open Devices in the controller or viewer to see available options. Support depends on the browser, operating system, glasses and installed native version. Test the actual combination before a tour. Independent external playback and phone darkening require verified native support; they are not guaranteed by plugging in glasses.

When something goes wrong

I cannot see my tour

Check that you are in Immersia Staging and signed in with the account that owns the tour. Refresh the library. Tours from Immersia Prod do not automatically appear here.

Saving reports a conflict

Another editor or agent saved a newer revision. Keep your edits open. Open the saved tour in a second tab, compare the newer version and reapply only your intended edits. Do not blindly overwrite the newer version.

A visitor cannot join

Check site access, connectivity and that the session is active. Use the latest invitation: a rotated link, ended session or expired invitation may no longer work.

Media does not play or has no sound

Check the selected cue, start/end points and media URL in the editor. Ask the visitor to interact with the player to allow sound. Check volume and connection. An external source may restrict playback; use media you have the right to upload and show.

The glasses are connected but the picture is wrong

Keep playback visible on the phone. Check Devices and the supported native build; a connected display alone is not proof that separate playback works. Use the phone viewer until the actual setup passes a rehearsal.

For features still being migrated, see Migration status in Settings.
